In his previous ‘mockumentary’ style films, writer and director Christopher Guest has satirized the world of dog shows, folk music and rock and roll. Now he has a new target: mascots.
“I had an interest in this myself going back quite a way,” Guest told Entertainment Weekly about the subject. “When my kids were small, we would go to places that had mascots. I found it odd, I guess.”
In Mascots, a cast of familiar faces from previous Guest films battle it out for the “Golden Fluffy” award for best mascot. The movie opens in select theaters and on Netflix Oct. 13.
