She was just 18 when a photo of herself enjoying fairy floss at the Melbourne Cup Carnival went viral.
The images of Karly Tsivoglou sent the internet into a spin, quickly earning her the nickname “fairy floss girl”.
But five years on and Karly’s moved on from that infamous moment at Flemington racecourse in 2016.
She became headline news after images of her enjoying the sticky pink treat with a friend were photographed by the Daily Mail.
In the snaps, Karly can be seen walking through crowds at the prestigious racecourse on Oaks Day, also known as Ladies Day.
The young woman was wearing a blue bodycon dress with underwire detailing around the bust.
Her dark brown locks were worn in loose waves that cascaded down her shoulders.
As she walked through the crowd she enjoyed chunks of fairy floss, the images becoming a well-known iconic moment from the annual Cup celebrations.
Since her internet fame, Karly has gone on to become a make-up artist in Melbourne according to her social media account.
She has also become a mother, welcoming a son in 2019 with her Greek partner.
Her once blossoming Instagram account that boasted over 26,000 followers has been deleted – and now Karly’s posts revolve heavily around her son.
However a bikini photo from a trip to Greece shows her enjoying life (presumably before lockdown) in a rooftop pool, nestled among the infamous Mykonos skyline.
In another snap, she can be seen rocking a very different look to her famous Ladies Day style, appearing to embrace her natural curls.
At the height of her fairy floss fame, Karly said she was approached by multiple admirers.
“A few people claimed they were in love with me,” she said on an appearance on Kyle and Jackie O at the time.
“But both Alice and I were getting a lot of positive compliments throughout the day.”
KIIS FM host Kyle Sandilands has regularly raved about Karly over the years, describing her as “gorgeous” in a segment aired last year.
