After the news broke late Wednesday night that Glee star Naya Rivera was missing and presumed dead after renting a pontoon boat at Lake Piru, California, with her four-year-old son, Josey, fans have flocked to her Instagram to post messages of love and support with hope that authorities will find the actress.

While reviewing her recent posts, fans immediately noticed that less than one week before she went missing, Rivera posted a chilling message in the caption of a selfie.

On July 1, the 33-year-old shared a sweet snap of herself wearing a white button-up shirt. The image was absolutely stunning, but her haunting words in the caption have captured fans’ attention because they are all too real.

“no matter the year, circumstance, or strifes everyday you’re alive is a blessing,” wrote Rivera. “make the most of today and every day you are given. tomorrow is not promised.”

According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Eric Buschow, Rivera rented a pontoon boat at 1:00 pm on Wednesday. When she didn’t return the boat to the dock at 4:00 pm when the three-hour rental expired, the company sent out a crew to look for Rivera and her son.

Fox11 Los Angeles is reporting that another boater spotted Rivera’s rental boat drifting in the water at the north end of Lake Piru, in an area known as “The Narrows.” Investigators say this area of the lake is roughly 30-feet deep, and there was about 15-feet of visibility in the water.

Josey was sleeping and wearing a lifejacket when the other boater inspected the situation and called 911, but Rivera was nowhere to be found and her lifejacket was left behind. Officials also found Rivera’s purse and wallet on the boat, and her black Mercedes G Wagon was in the parking lot.

“We’re going on the belief that she did go in the water and we have not been able to locate her,” Buschow said during a news conference on Wednesday night. “So this may well be a case of drowning.”

The search for Rivera was suspended overnight, and when it resumed on Thursday morning it was changed from a rescue mission to a recovery mission because Rivera is presumed dead. The lake was closed to the public on Thursday while authorities continued their search.

“We have no indication, after talking to her son, that miss Rivera made it to shore. So the focus of our search efforts are in the water,” said Sgt. Kevin Donoghue. “He [Josey] gave enough information to investigators to conclude that his mother never made it out of the water.”

Thursday’s search team included dozens of personnel from the Ventura County Fire Department and Sheriff’s Department, the Coast Guard, and the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The team used helicopters and drones during their recovery mission, but Naya Rivera’s body has not yet been found.
